Infant/Toddler Class

2 Year Old Class 

(6 weeks-2 years)
This class will provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating atmosphere for infants to learn and grow. Children will focus on socialization and interaction as they begin to become familiar with a daily schedule.  Small class sizes and two staff in each classroom allow for individualized care and instruction.  Toddlers will include a schedule of art, music, movement, play, milestone development and nap time.  
*Infants accepted on a rolling basis


3 Year Old Class

The focus of this class is socialization and preparing children academically. We will introduce letters, numbers, name recognition and work on fine motor skills to promote reading and writing. This class includes art, music, learning centers and fun, hands-on projects.
*Must turn 3 by August 1 & be potty trained


This class is the first step in your child’s preschool experience and prepares them for a more structured environment. Activities are developmentally appropriate and include art, music, learning centers, fine & gross motor skills and social development.   They will also obtain a basic introduction to letters, colors, numbers and shapes.
*must turn 2 by August 1



K-Prep Class

This class is designed to prepare your child for kindergarten. Academics include reading and writing, first and last name recognition and writing, number recognition and counting, basic math and science, art, music, and lots of hands-on learning.
*Must turn 4 by August 1

What ages do you accept?
We accept newborn through 5 years of age (aka K-prep).
Is your program year round?
Yes, we follow North Kansas City School District (other than the start date) and offer summer camp in the summer. We are closed one week in May, one week in the summer and one week in August for building maintenance and the preparation of the new school year.
What are your student/teacher ratios?
For infants to 1 year of age, 1:4 ratio.  For 1 year of age, 1:5 ratio. For 2 years of age, 1:9 ratio.  For 3 & 4 years of age, 1:10 ratio.
When does enrollment begin?
Open Enrollment for current families starts February 1st and for the general public begins March 1st.
My child has a peanut allergy; can you accomodate that?
Absolutely. We are a peanut & tree nut-free facility. 
What security features does your building have?
All doors are locked at all times. Families are given an individual access code to enter the building. Security cameras are placed at all entrances and are monitored throughout the day by building leadership. In addition, all students need to be signed in and out each day at their classroom. Identification is checked on all people authorized to pick up until we get to know you.
What is the educational background of the staff?
All teachers in our 3-year-old and K Prep classes have a degree in either early childhood education or elementary education. All staff have a background working with children.
Do staff have any additional training?
All staff are CPR certified and have had Safe Sanctuary training. In addition, most staff have attended active shooter training with the KCPD.
What is your discipline policy?
Our philosophy is positive redirection. We assist the children in making positive decisions. Our staff strives towards fostering responsibility, caring and creativity in the children we teach.
Are there opportunities for active play to develop gross & fine motor skills?
Yes, we have two separate fenced-in playgrounds that give children the opportunity for physical activity to enhance their gross motor skills, promoting health and well-being. Classrooms utilize table time to provide students with exposure to fine motor activities. This may include cutting, pre-writing activities & lacing activities.
Will my child nap during the day?
Children ages infant – 3 year olds have a nap or rest time. Nap times vary by age from 30 minutes to 90 minutes.  Nap schedules in our infant room are flexible.
